DATES:
July 26, 9 to noon – A volunteer work day to help get ready for school. We will stuff first-day folders, fold West Wear, get textbooks organized, and more. We need lots of hands to help, so kids are encouraged to come help! Meet in the office.
July 31, 5 – 7 pm – Schedule pickup for 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade families. Stop by school to pick up your child’s schedule and meet the teachers. This is a drop-in event, and you are welcome anytime. Please note: 5th graders will get schedules at Blue Jay Beginnings on August 2nd. If you cannot attend these events, feel free to stop by the main office August 1 or August 2 from 9 am to 3 pm to get your schedule.
August 2, 9 to 11 am – Blue Jay Beginnings for 5th graders and their families. 5th-grade students will get a tour, learn about band, get their schedules, and meet their new teachers and classmates. Parents will get tons of back-to-school information. Doors will open at 8:30 am to purchase West Wear.
August 4, 5-7 pm – 5th-grade picnic in Elmington Park. 5th-grade families, please bring a blanket, a picnic, and your favorite park toys and come meet all our new families! In case of rain, we will hold the picnic in the gym.
August 5 – First day of school. 5th graders should report to the auditorium at 8:50 am. Doors open at 8:40 am and school ends at 3:55 pm. Lots more details will be posted over the summer.
August 15, 6 – 7:30 pm: Open House for all grades. Come meet the teachers! We’ll start in the auditorium.

Recycle School Supplies! Please remember that there is no need to purchase shiny new items each year! Encourage your students to reuse/recycle where possible.
School Supply Lists and Summer Reading Lists: Grade-level lists have been posted on the home page.
Honors Classes for 6th-8th graders: Students will learn about honors class placement before leaving for summer break. If you have questions about honors class placement, please call the front office.
