Busy Week Ahead!

It’s a big week for finding out and trying out. Let’s break things down day by day.

Monday

• Volleyball Tryouts, 4 PM

• Meet the Coach Night, 6-6:45 PM

  Families of 6th-8th grade students who are interested in participating in fall athletics (girls soccer, football, cheerleading, and volleyball) will meet in the auditorium to gather information about the upcoming season.

Tuesday

• Volleyball Tryouts, 4 PM

Wednesday

• Volleyball Tryouts, 4 PM

• Drama Auditions, 4 PM

Auditions for our winter drama productions will be held on Wednesday after school in the auditorium. It will be a cold read, so just come and have some fun. There will be two performances this winter: School Daze is open to students in grades 5-8; Little Women is open to students in grades 7 & 8.

• Robotics Information Night, 6 PM

Is your child interested in joining the West End robotics team? Once again this year, we are the only MNPS school participating in the BEST robotics competition, which starts September 8 and ends with an all-day, sports-like Game Day event at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena on October 20. There is a lot more to BEST than building robots, though; come find out how creative problem-solvers and team players of all ages and skill levels can contribute to the team’s success. (Students may attend, but the presentation will be geared toward parents. Meeting will be in the library.)

Thursday

• Volleyball Tryouts, 4 PM

• 5th Grade Band Parent Meeting, 5:30 PM

Before the Open House, Ms. Jolly will meet with 5th grade band families in the auditorium to discuss expectations, instrument rental, concert dates, and more.

• Open House/Meet the Teachers, 6 PM

The event will begin in the auditorium and then parents will have the opportunity to follow their child’s schedule and hear from their child’s teachers.
