We are excited to welcome expert Emi Canahuati to West End for a special presentation entitled “Talking to your Tween about LBGTQ and Gender Issues” this Tuesday, March 19, at 6 PM in the library (followed by a bit of PTSO business). Emi is a caring and knowledgeable professional in this area who has lots of expertise talking to groups like ours. Learn more about Emi at her website or on Facebook.
Community members are welcome to attend this meeting, as are Sylvan Park and Eakin parents. We ask that young children be kept at home because of the mature topic. Tweens and teens are welcome to attend with parental discretion and supervision.
We hope that this presentation will help make all students and families in our community feel welcome and will help us all learn how to use inclusive language as we talk to our tweens and teens about this important topic.
