Hello, West End Families!
I am very excited to have been named your principal for the 2020-2021 school year. It is going to be an interesting year, to say the least, but I am confident that we will come out the other side stronger and that our students will be better prepared for whatever life sends their way!
I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in the metro Atlanta area. I was always proficient in math and science courses, but wanting more of a challenge in college, I majored in theatre and drama at the University of Georgia. I then pursued a career in movies and television because I wanted to make the world a better place! In my young mind, I thought that mass media was the best way to do this. After working in Hollywood for three years, I reconsidered.
I have been in education for 16 years–my first two years as a middle school substitute teacher. In my time, I have taught many grade and ability levels, from sixth-grade math and science to senior AP statistics. My master’s degree in brain-based learning from Nova Southeastern helped me to understand more how learning is acquired. My education specialist degree from Lipscomb helped me learn how to structure an institution to optimize that learning acquisition.
Thank you again for letting me work with your student(s) to help them grow to be the best they can be. I am committed to helping each student unleash their own power and fullest potential.
