Have you started the end-of-school-year closet purge? Starting to think about next school year? We are, too!!
Bring us your “outgrown, not worn out” SSA items and make way for summer! All of your student’s too-small khaki, black, and navy pants and shorts; West Wear; jeans; and polo shirts will fill up our WEMS clothing closet as needed–then all of the extras go to UniCycle to fill closets at other schools throughout MNPS and directly to students in the Homeless Education Resource Office program. The program provides school wardrobes to thousands of MNPS students each year, and they’re ramping up donation efforts now in preparation for a busy August. The time is right to send those khakis and collared shirts off to their next best life with another MNPS middle school student. It’s a small thing, but it’s a big deal!
You can drop off your clothing donation at one of two OUTDOOR collection points: There will be a collection laundry basket at the side door on the steps off the Bowling Avenue loop and another basket by the gym doors off the Elmington Avenue loop. No contact, easy drop off, so let’s fill those baskets up!
