The basketball season opener for both the girls and boys teams will be next Tuesday, November 23. Here’s some information about other winter/spring sports that are gearing up:
Boys Lacrosse: There are two more Saturday clinics led by coaches and players from the state champion Hillsboro lacrosse team for interested boys in grades 5-8. Come out to the West End football field on November 20 and December 4 from noon to 2:00 to learn the basics of the game, improve your skills, and most importantly … HAVE FUN!!! Loaner equipment will be available. Please bring a water bottle, mouthguard, and cleats.
Girls Lacrosse: The West End girls lacrosse team is preparing for a great season this spring and is looking for 5th through 8th grade players from all MNPS middle schools. No experience necessary. Come meet the new coaches on Saturday, November 20, at 2 PM in Elmington Park. Learn a few skills to get you ready for the spring season starting January 18, 2022. Wrestling (grades 6-8): This year, we’ll be co-oping with Bellevue Middle. Transportation to Bellevue for practices and home matches is not provided. For more information, email wescnc@aol.com.
Swimming: West End parent Cami Platek would love to connect with other parents of experienced swimmers to explore the possibility of competing as a team at the MTHSSA middle school championship early next year. There would be no team practices. Contact Cami at camiplatek@att.net or 615.293.1965.
