Important Update Regarding the 2022-23 School Year

On December 14, 2021, MNPS announced that 11 additional elementary schools will be transitioning to the district’s preferred PreK-5th grade model beginning next school year. West End’s two feeder schools, Eakin and Sylvan Park, are among the schools adding fifth grade in 2022-23, and West End is one of the middle schools transitioning to grades 6-8 only. While we’re disappointed that the rising fifth grade families we’ve met recently will not be joining our Blue Jay family this fall, we look forward to welcoming them to our sixth grade class in August 2023.

Important Info for New Families

The Spring Fling dance is this Friday, April 8, in the new/big gym. There are separate times for the upper school and lower school:

Grades 5/6: 4:15-5:30 PM
Grades 7/8: 6:00-7:15 PM

Tickets will be $5 at the door, with the proceeds from ticket sales going to Second Harvest Food Bank. The concession stand will be open, so students need to be sure to bring extra cash for pizza, candy, soft drinks, and water.
